Short URLs exploited by phishing scams

I tried accessing a URL from a new follow on twitter this morning and good thing I was using the android OS. Otherwise the spy ware scum would have infected my PC. These tiny URLs are a handy services but unfortunately unethical companies have employed them to manipulate unsuspecting visitors. I rarely get duped into these, and know what they are. I feel sorry for the less savvy individuals.

Why must the barrier to entry still exist?

Anyway, here is a like to expand these tiny URLs to determine if they are the page you would like to visit: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8636... for Firefox anyway.

I have been off for way too long

I've come to realize that my blog is way out of date. I rarely use it and think it is time to post something to make sure it works.

I've been very busy working for IMM-LLC in downtown Ithaca. This job is prime in building my portfolio.

My website is way out of date as well. I will be getting to that once things slow down a bit with my current jobs ( I work for Kaplan Test Prep, too).

Anyway, I hope that this blog finds a few eyeballs and that the link posted helps google find my company and push them to the top of the SERPs (that's Search Engine Results Page).

Signing off.

IBM has a Problem with Pollution

IBM is being sued by several Endicott residents for the release of the toxic chemicals trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene into the Upstate New York urban area. Their old building sits in Endicott with their phrase "Think" on both wings of the building. It remains a testament to how wealthy the area used to be before IBM picked up and left town. Now the town has several cases of Autism and other related syndromes that have been hypothesized by locals to be linked with the pollution in the area. Furthermore, the area is lagging in economic growth and prosperity.

Every time I visit Endicott and drive by the old IBM building I wonder how such an outstanding opportunity became a failure and environmental hazard to its family. It was left a relic of the corporate America that enabled my grandfather to support his wife and 11 children.

J.R.R. Tolkien said “Deep roots are not reached by frost.” IBM, I think you have forgotten the most important part of growing. You aught to re-Think your Endicott relationship. Perhaps when people believe you are looking out for their best interest and not your profit margins you would have increased productivity, etc. etc.

With the recent economic woes as icing on the cake it is no surprise that your losing 2,800 people in the United States.

I sincerely hope IBM remains true to their words that are set in stone.

Fox on Comedy Central

Why are Fox News hosts visiting the Daily Show lately? [1] [2]

Are they bracing for changes in viewership? This is interesting to think about after watching this clip at TheDailyShow.com poking fun at Fox News. Perhaps it's what the Daily Show has done for the latest election. Clearly sided, The Daily Show has called out the ridiculousness that news channels can sometimes get caught up in.

I gotta hand it to Bill O'reilly for handling his interview with Jon Stewart with conjecture and grace. "That's not a panda!"
